Meet Your Faculty
Profesora Edna Acosta
Spanish language educator and researcher with over ten years of international experience teaching Spanish as a Foreign Language (SFL/ELE). Her academic trajectory spans Latin America, Europe, and Asia, with a strong background in curriculum design, applied linguistics, and Spanish for Specific Purposes. She specialises in Medical Spanish for healthcare professionals, having worked as a Research Lecturer in Spanish for Medical Purposes at Universidad de Anáhuac (Mexico) in partnership with the University of Nebraska Medical Center, where she designed curricula focused on doctor-patient interaction, medical terminology, and intercultural communication in clinical settings. She is a certified DELE Examiner (Instituto Cervantes, Code: 913704).
She has taught at American Straight A Academy (ASAA), a virtual K-12 institution with offices in Beijing and Guangzhou, China. She also taught Spanish and English at Istinye University (Istanbul) and Spanish, translation, and Latin American literature and culture at Aydın University (Istanbul).

Profesora Catalina Ospina Higuera
Catalina is a certified Spanish as a Foreign Language (ELE) teacher through Rey Juan Carlos University and INESEM in Spain, with nine years of experience teaching Spanish abroad. She specialises in medical Spanish for specific purposes and DELE exam preparation. At Universidad Anáhuac in Mexico, working in partnership with the University of Nebraska Medical Center, she delivered clinical Spanish instruction aligned with the CEFR, covering medical terminology and culturally competent communication strategies. She currently teaches corporate Spanish for specific purposes at Voxy, working with students in Brazil and Italy, and is completing a Master's degree in Education.
